Illustrated Dunhuang 254 Caves

The Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang is a treasure house of ancient Chinese art. It has completely preserved the Buddhist grotto art that lasted for more than a thousand years from the Northern Liang Dynasty to the Yuan Dynasty. Up to now, there are still 492 caves with murals and painted sculptures. This book aims to lead ordinary audiences to understand the history, culture and artistic achievements of the Dunhuang Grottoes, taking a classic cave of the Northern Wei Dynasty that Zhang Daqian, Chang Shuhong, Dong Xiwen and other artists were moved to imitate with great concentration.
