Dead Branches and Fallen Leaves is the famous novel of García Márquez. The story takes place in the small town of Macondo in "One Hundred Years of Solitude". It describes the story of three generations of a family in Macondo Town who buried a doctor for half an hour after his death, reflecting the changes of the town in the past twenty years after the town was invaded by banana companies. Because it has the prototype of "One Hundred Years of Solitude", it is known as the "Preface to "One Hundred Years of Solitude", which opened the way for Marquez to create magical realism in the future.
